Man shot dead in Ambala

A 25-year-old man has been shot dead by unidentified bike-borne men at Ambala Cantonment here, police said Wednesday. The deceased, Puneet, a resident of Khatik Mandi in the cantonment area, was taking an evening stroll with his wife in the locality when two men on a bike shot him at point-blank range, police said.

Puneet was rushed to the local civil hospital, and later referred to PGIMER Chandigarh, where he succumbed to his injuries, officials said. Puneet's relatives blocked the road here and demanded arrest of the assailants. Police suspect an old enmity behind the shooting. Investigations are on.
