Gold worth Rs 42 lakh has been seized from four women passengers since Monday night, the Customs department said Tuesday. The seizure was made following constant vigil by officers of the Air Intelligence Unit at the Anna International Airport here, a Customs release said.
It said that officials recovered the precious metal from four woman passengers in different instances, following their arrival from Colombo and the Middle East, between Monday night and this morning.
