46 police officials from Maha bag President's Medal

A total of 46 police officials from Maharashtra on Wednesday bagged the President's Police Medal for distinguished service. The recipients included ACP Rajaram Patil, brother of former deputy chief minister late R R Patil.
A total of 946 medals have been announced by the Union home ministry for personnel and officers of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and state police forces. Some of the awardees included ACPs Milind Khetle and Ramchandra Jadhav, Assistant SRPF Commandant Harishchandra Kale, Assistant Sub-Inspector Maruti Suryawanshi from Kolhapur.
ACP Khetle, who is posted with Mumbai Police, had won President's Police Medal for Gallantry in 1997 and Police medal for meritorious service in 2007. DCP Vikram Deshmane (currently posted with Maharashtra ATS), Sureshkumar Mengade (SP, PCR), Deelip Boraste (DySP ACB, Pune), Netaji Bhopale (ACP, Crime, Mumbai), Mukund Hatote (ACP, Thane), Kiran Patil (ACP, EOW, Mumbai), Avinash Dharmadhikari (ACP, Mumbai), Gopika Jahagirdar (DySP, PCWC) have won the prestigious medal for meritorious service.
The list also includes DySP Mandar Dharmadhikari, Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Kadam, Police Inspectors Sayyad Shoukat Ali Sabir Ali, Satish Gaikwad and Balaji Sontakke. Police Inspector Hanumant Bapat, posted with Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in its Mumbai office, has won the medal for distinguished service in 2012.
ACP Rajaram Patil (56), currently posted at the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate, has bagged the medal for his distinguished service when he was posted as DySP in Kolhapur district. The ACP, a resident of Tasgaon in Sangli district, said he was missing his elder brother late R R Patil on the occasion.
"My mother Bhagirathi became emotional when she received this news at a farm in Tasgaon. Both of us are missing 'Aba', as R R Patil was fondly called," the officer told PTI..
