The outcome of votes cast for 50 assembly seats in Arunachal Pradesh will be revealed on Sunday as counting commences, officials confirm. The ruling BJP has already secured 10 seats unopposed in the 60-member assembly, having previously won 41 seats in 2019.

The counting process will kick off at 6 am under stringent security, with results anticipated by noon, according to state Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Pawan Kumar Sain. Both assembly and Lok Sabha elections took place concurrently on April 19, with an impressive voter turnout of 82.71% for the assembly polls and 77.51% for the Lok Sabha seats.

CEO Sain revealed that counting for the 50 assembly seats will be conducted across 24 centers managed by 2,000 officials. Three-tier security protocols have been established for all counting centers, and media centers will offer real-time updates. Coordination meetings have ensured preparedness among district electoral officers and police superintendents to maintain a peaceful counting process. Additionally, counting for the state's two Lok Sabha seats is slated for June 4 from 8 am at 25 centers, featuring 14 candidates in the fray.
