In a significant diplomatic gathering, leaders from the Maldives, Mauritius, and Bhutan arrived in New Delhi on Sunday to witness the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi.
Notably, this marks Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu's inaugural visit to India since assuming office on November 17 of last year. The presence of these leaders underscores the importance of India's 'Neighbourhood First' policy and its regional diplomatic engagements.
The event, held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, also saw the participation of leaders from Bangladesh, Seychelles, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, further emphasizing India's commitment to strengthening ties within the Indian Ocean region.
