Regional Leaders Unite for Modi's Historic Third Term

Top leaders from India's neighborhood and Indian Ocean region attended Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony for his third consecutive term as Prime Minister. The event highlighted India's 'Neighbourhood First' policy and the 'SAGAR' vision for regional cooperation.

In a landmark event, top leaders from India's neighborhood and the Indian Ocean region, including Presidents and Prime Ministers from Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Mauritius, graced the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union council of ministers on Sunday. The ceremony was held at the iconic Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the oath for his third consecutive term, days after the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance secured 293 seats out of 543 in the Lok Sabha polls. Prominent BJP leaders such as Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, S. Jaishankar, and Piyush Goyal were also sworn in as Union Cabinet ministers during the event.

The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that leaders from the seven invited countries attended the ceremony, underscoring India's 'Neighbourhood First' policy and the SAGAR vision (Security and Growth for All in the Region). This event continues the tradition of regional cooperation established during Modi's previous terms in office.
