Goa Congress Rises Against NEET Irregularities

On Friday, the Goa Congress organized a protest at Azad Maidan in Panaji, vehemently opposing the Union government's handling of the NEET examination.

The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), conducted on May 5 with the participation of around 24 lakh candidates, has faced allegations of paper leaks in states like Bihar after the results were declared on June 4.

Key figures at the protest included Goa Congress chief Amit Patkar, Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, South Goa MP Viriato Fernandes, and Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress committee president Bina Naik. Patkar demanded a re-examination due to the alleged 'fraud,' while Fernandes announced his intention to raise the issue in Parliament. 'Our leader Rahul Gandhi has met student representatives and has given them full support,' Fernandes stated. Additionally, NSUI state chief Naushad Chowdhari warned of encircling Parliament on June 24 if the Union government does not annul the recently held NEET.
