Major Setback for BRS as Six MLCs Join Congress in Telangana

In a major blow to the opposition BRS in Telangana, six party MLCs defected to the ruling Congress. This development follows a series of desertions impacting BRS after losing the Assembly elections last year, further strengthening Congress's position in the state's legislative council.

In a significant political development in Telangana, six MLCs from the opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) defected to the ruling Congress party late Thursday night. The defections took place in the presence of state Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and other prominent Congress leaders.

This move marks another blow to BRS, which has been experiencing a spate of high-profile exits since its defeat in the Assembly elections last year. Among those who joined Congress are Dande Vithal, Bhanu Prasad Rao, M S Prabhakar, Boggarapu Dayanand, Yegge Mallesham, and Baswaraju Saraiah.

According to the latest figures, Congress's strength in the Telangana Legislative Council is poised to rise significantly with these new joinings, while BRS continues to grapple with internal defections and political instability.
