Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday underscored India’s enduring commitment to global peace and prosperity, stating that the country has historically given 'Buddha' to the world instead of 'Yuddha' (war). Speaking to the Indian diaspora in Vienna, Modi highlighted India's influential role in shaping the 21st century.
During his address, Modi affirmed India’s pursuit of excellence and milestones, emphasizing the nation's long tradition of sharing knowledge and fostering peace. This visit to Austria marked the first by an Indian Prime Minister in 41 years, coinciding with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Modi also drew attention to the democratic values shared by India and Austria, praising the recent large-scale electoral process back home, and commending the robust electoral machinery that enabled swift and accurate election results for 650 million voters.
