Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar announced on Thursday that the Congress party plans to evaluate and rectify the mistakes made in the recent Lok Sabha elections in the state.
This move is in preparation to challenge the BJP-JDS alliance effectively.
Speaking at the KPCC office, Shivakumar, also the state president of Congress, noted that while the party's seats increased from one in 2019 to nine in 2024, this was still below the target of 14 to 15 seats. The assessment will involve the AICC fact-finding committee and will cover all four regions of the state to identify shortcomings. Despite fielding strong candidates, the results were not as favorable, prompting the need for a deeper understanding of influencing factors to strategize for future elections.
