Mamata Banerjee Asserts Anti-BJP Sentiment Amid Recent Bypolls

In a recent statement, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee declared that the political trend across India is against the BJP, citing the bypoll results where the INDIA bloc claimed 10 seats while the BJP secured only two. Banerjee attributed the shifting political landscape to the discontent with the NDA, especially outside Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday stated that there is a notable trend against the BJP throughout India, as evidenced by the recent bypoll results.

The INDIA bloc parties secured 10 assembly seats, while the BJP claimed just two and an Independent clinched one. These results emerged from by-elections conducted across 13 seats in seven states earlier in the week.

The TMC supremo pointed out that the NDA garnered 46 per cent of the votes, whereas the INDIA bloc received 51 per cent in the contested constituencies, which included four seats in West Bengal, three in Himachal Pradesh, two in Uttarakhand, and one each in Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Tamil Nadu.
