Congress Fires Back with 2011 Legislative Council Revelations

The Congress party in Karnataka has released proceedings from the 2011 Legislative Council where former Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa accused JD(S) leader H D Deve Gowda of misappropriating MUDA sites. This move aims to counter recent allegations against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah by the BJP and JD(S).

In a strategic political maneuver, the ruling Congress party in Karnataka has released proceedings from the March 2011 Legislative Council, spotlighting accusations made by then Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa against JD(S) leader H D Deve Gowda. Yediyurappa had alleged that Gowda 'looted' Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) sites.

The Congress has challenged BJP leaders to call for a probe into these allegations and questioned their current silence on the matter. State Congress communications chief Ramesh Babu dared the BJP to reveal the names of party leaders who acquired sites during their tenure, claiming most MUDA scams occurred under BJP rule.

The Congress's release includes statements from Yediyurappa, accusing Gowda's family members of acquiring 48 sites on a single day. This move comes as a rebuttal to BJP and JD(S) charges against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah involving alleged fraudulent site allotments to his wife.
