PM Modi Counters Unemployment Critics with Record Job Data

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a pointed response to criticism from the INDIA bloc, highlighted RBI data showing record employment generation over the past few years. Modi accused the opposition of spreading false narratives and emphasized his administration's commitment to development.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a forceful rebuttal to critics of his government's employment record, referencing data from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) which indicates record job creation in recent years. Modi spoke on Saturday at the NESCO Exhibition Centre in Goregaon, Mumbai.

According to Modi, the country has generated employment for 8 crore people over the last 3-4 years, dispelling what he termed the false narrative of widespread unemployment perpetuated by opposition parties. He characterized these detractors as enemies of investment, infrastructure, and development.

Reports from the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) and RBI's KLEMS data support Modi's claims, showing an average of over 2 crore jobs per year from 2017-18 to 2021-22, despite the COVID-19 pandemic. The Prime Minister emphasized ongoing efforts in skill development and infrastructure investment as vital components of job creation.

Modi also accused the INDIA bloc of betraying the youth and obstructing employment, claiming their policies are being increasingly exposed by the facts. He highlighted Maharashtra's pivotal role in India's development and outlined plans to transform the state into the world's leading economic powerhouse.

During his speech, Modi noted the NDA government's dedication to uplifting the underprivileged, citing efforts to provide pucca houses for millions of poor families, including a significant number in Maharashtra. He celebrated the state's historical and cultural contributions to India's national consciousness.

On his first visit to Mumbai following his re-election, Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation for various projects worth over Rs 29,400 crores, underscoring his administration's commitment to rapid development.
