The Congress on Tuesday criticized the Centre after four soldiers were killed in an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district, urging the government to take full responsibility for security lapses and take strict action against those responsible, according to Rahul Gandhi.
Officials reported that four Army personnel, including an officer, succumbed after being injured in a gunfight with heavily armed terrorists. This incident follows another terrorist attack in Kathua district last week that resulted in the deaths of five soldiers.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi expressed concern over the repeated violent incidents and blamed the BJP's policies for the deteriorating security situation. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge echoed these sentiments, stressing the need for a recalibrated security strategy and a collective fight against cross-border terrorism. Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi also paid tributes to the slain soldiers and called for government accountability in a post on X.
