BJP Criticizes Opposition for Inciteful Language Against PM Modi

The BJP accused the Opposition of using violent rhetoric against PM Narendra Modi. The BJP on Thursday strongly criticized the Opposition for utilizing inciteful and violent language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw underscored the importance of decorum in political discourse, stressing that words like 'maut' and 'hinsa' have significant psychological impacts, leading to societal violence and unnecessary tensions.

Vaishnaw asserted, 'The choice of words is very important in public life. The kind of comments used by the Opposition for PM Modi is a matter of grave concern.' BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi supported this stance by citing a former IPS officer's write-up, which warned that rhetoric used for short-term political benefits can incite violence.

Referencing historical incidents such as the assassination of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and a recent attempt on Donald Trump, Trivedi argued that such language poses genuine threats. He also criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for using terms like violence and murder in Parliament, juxtaposing Modi's security threats with the protection afforded to Gandhi in volatile regions like Kashmir and Manipur. Trivedi highlighted that individuals who had used violent rhetoric against Modi are now Congress MPs and accused the Congress of historically supporting separatists and terrorists.
