Nagar Singh Chouhan, Madhya Pradesh's Scheduled Caste Welfare Minister, threatened to resign on Monday after being divested of the Forest and Environment portfolio. This portfolio has been reallocated to new BJP inductee and former Congress MLA Ramniwas Rawat.
Chouhan stated that his wife, Anita Singh Chouhan, would also step down as Ratlam MP if the BJP leadership did not address his concerns. The minister voiced his dissatisfaction, noting that tribals, who make up 23% of Madhya Pradesh's population, would be adversely affected by this change.
In a conversation with PTI, Chouhan said, 'My voice was not heard. I will first talk to organizational leaders and decide the next step. If I feel I should not stay on the post, I will resign along with my wife Anita.'
