Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday stressed that Parliament is meant to serve the nation and not individual political parties. In his address ahead of the new Parliament session, Modi criticized opposition parties for engaging in 'negative politics' and misusing Parliament to cover up their own political failures.
Modi highlighted the importance of the upcoming Union Budget, which he said will set the direction for India's development over the next five years and lay the groundwork for achieving the vision of 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047. He urged all MPs to work collectively for the country, irrespective of their party affiliations.
The Prime Minister called on political parties to rise above partisan lines and use Parliament as a platform to empower the poor, farmers, youth, and women. Modi expressed disappointment that many MPs had been unable to contribute effectively in Parliament due to disruptive tactics by some parties and emphasized the need for constructive debate and collaboration.
