BJP's Governance Review: Chief Ministers Present Development Schemes

BJP's top leaders, including PM Narendra Modi, recently met with chief ministers from BJP-ruled states for a two-day discussion on governance and development schemes. The chief ministers of BJP-ruled states made presentations on various development schemes in their territories as the party's top brass, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, held deliberations over governance issues for a second consecutive day on Sunday.

Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, and J P Nadda, the national president of the party, were also part of the meeting. The two-day 'mukhyamantri parishad' commenced on Saturday.

During his remarks, Modi emphasized the need to ensure saturation coverage of ongoing welfare schemes in BJP-ruled states, highlighting them as examples of good governance. He noted the continuous efforts of BJP-run governments to aid various sections of society, especially the poor, and stated on social media, ''Our Party is working tirelessly to further good governance and fulfill the aspirations of the people.'' The 'mukhyamantri parishad' is organized by the BJP at regular intervals to review key schemes in states, adhere to the best governance practices, and ensure the delivery of central government welfare initiatives.

Among the attendees were chief ministers Yogi Adityanath (Uttar Pradesh), Himanta Biswa Sarma (Assam), Bhajanlal Sharma (Rajasthan), and Mohan Charan Majhi (Odisha), along with chief ministers from Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Haryana, Manipur, and Chhattisgarh.

The meeting also followed the presentation of the Union budget, with opposition parties criticizing the government for allegedly neglecting other states in favor of Bihar and Andhra Pradesh. The session marked the first assembly after the recent Lok Sabha polls, where the BJP experienced a less-than-stellar performance, losing its majority in the Lower House of Parliament. Discussions primarily focused on governance issues, despite the political undertones. The previous such meeting took place in February.
