JD(S) Withdraws from Foot March Protest, Kumaraswamy Criticizes BJP

JD(S) has withdrawn from the planned foot march against alleged irregularities by MUDA, including allotments to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's wife. JD(S) has decided to withdraw from the planned foot march against the alleged irregularities in site allotments by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), including sites allotted to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's wife. Party leader H D Kumaraswamy launched a strong criticism against the BJP for not consulting them and for appointing a leader from Hassan to spearhead the protest.

The protest march, initially planned by BJP and JD(S) from Bengaluru to Mysuru from August 3 to 10, aimed to highlight alleged fraudulent site allocations by MUDA, demanding the resignation of the Chief Minister. Kumarswamy made it clear that JD(S) would not extend any moral support to BJP's protest, stating that it was not an appropriate time for such an activity considering the recent heavy rains and flooding.

BJP leader R Ashoka asserted that the party would proceed with the protest irrespective of JD(S)'s participation, emphasizing the need to expose the Chief Minister's alleged involvement in the scam. He indicated ongoing discussions at the national level to solidify plans for the march.
