Historic 'Tarang Shakti' Air Exercise Strengthens Indo-German Ties

The German Air Force will join the Indian Air Force in the 'Tarang Shakti' air exercise for the first time, in what has been described as a significant milestone for bilateral relations. German Ambassador Philipp Ackermann highlighted that the exercise, which will include assets from four nations, enhances security and political ties.
Set to occur in two phases, 'Tarang Shakti' will kick off at Sulur in Tamil Nadu from August 6-14, followed by the second phase from August 29-September 14 in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. In total, about 150 aircraft from approximately 30 countries will participate, according to top IAF officials.
The exercise will showcase India's defense prowess and provide a platform for international forces to improve interoperability. Participating aircraft include IAF's LCA Tejas, Mirage 2000, and Rafale, alongside Germany's Typhoon, France's Rafale, Australia's F-18, and Greece's F-16.
