Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's plans to travel to London have encountered roadblocks due to uncertain conditions, likely keeping her in India for a few more days, sources revealed on Tuesday.

After resigning as prime minister, Hasina landed at Hindon airbase aboard a C-130J military transport aircraft and has since been moved to an undisclosed location under tight security. Joined by her sister Sheikh Rehana, Hasina initially aimed to seek temporary refuge in London, but UK authorities suggested she might not receive legal protection against any probes tied to recent violent protests in Bangladesh.

Hasina's travel to London was partly motivated by family connections, with Rehana’s daughter Tulip Siddiq serving as a British MP. However, the UK’s stringent policies on asylum and refuge have complicated her plans. British Foreign Secretary David Lammy emphasized the need for an independent UN-led investigation into the recent violence in Bangladesh. The situation remains fluid, with no clear resolution yet.
