Trump and Musk Face Technical Woes During Controversial Live Stream
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's interview with Elon Musk on social media platform X encountered technical issues. Musk's shift to the right and backing of Trump's campaign have sparked controversy. The interview offered Trump a broad audience, diverging from his typical conservative base.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's scheduled interview with Elon Musk on the billionaire entrepreneur's social media platform X hit technical snags early on, with users encountering access issues. Although more than 115,000 people managed to join, the page initially showed up as 'not available' for many minutes past the start time.
Just before the event began, Musk clarified that he was hosting a conversation, not a formal interview, with Trump. This instance served as a crucial opportunity for Trump to grab the national spotlight as his campaign battles new challenges. Meanwhile, his Democratic rival, Vice President Kamala Harris, has closed in on Trump in opinion polls and reenergized Democratic voters.
This interview marks Trump's return to X after a year-long hiatus, during which he was banned following the January 6 attack on the Capitol. Despite frequent posts on his own platform, Truth Social, X offers Trump a much larger audience. The session faced issues similar to past events on X, plagued by technical difficulties and contentious ad buys supporting Trump.
