Thailand's People's Party to Lead Opposition Ahead of Premier Vote
The People's Party of Thailand has announced it will remain the largest opposition party and will not support the current coalition in the forthcoming parliamentary vote for premier. Leader Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut stated that they would not vote for Pheu Thai party's candidate, Chaikasem Nitisiri.

The People's Party of Thailand has confirmed its intention to stay as the leading opposition force in parliament. The announcement came on Thursday, just before a crucial house vote for a new premier.
Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut, the party leader, emphasized that they would not be backing Chaikasem Nitisiri, the candidate from the Pheu Thai party. Chaikasem, a former attorney-general and justice minister, is one of the potential nominees for the premiership.
The Pheu Thai party was holding a meeting on Thursday to choose between its two candidates for the premier position.
