The United States has made no amnesty offer to Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro following disputed elections, the White House clarified on Thursday.
White House national security spokesperson John Kirby informed reporters that the US remains interested in acquiring Venezuelan voting data. According to electoral authorities, Maduro clinched a third term in the July 28 election. However, opposition-collected tallies indicate opposition candidate Edmundo Gonzalez as the winner.
The discrepancy has raised questions about the election's integrity, prompting the US to seek more information.
