Haryana CM Counters Congress Criticism with Farmer Compensation Measures

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini defended his government's efforts to assist farmers affected by subnormal rain, highlighting recent compensation initiatives. He criticized the Congress's 'Haryana Maange Hisab' campaign, accusing them of spreading misinformation. Saini outlined various pro-farmer policies implemented by the BJP government over the past decade.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, in a press conference, outlined his government's efforts to support farmers impacted by this year's insufficient rainfall. He revealed a recent cabinet decision to compensate affected farmers at a rate of Rs 2,000 per acre.

In a direct counter to the Congress's 'Haryana Maange Hisab' campaign, he accused the opposition of spreading lies and doing little to help farmers during their tenure. Saini emphasized that the BJP government has disbursed Rs 13,276 crore to farmers over the last decade, contrasting it with the 'meagre' amounts given by the Congress.

Saini also announced plans to establish veterinary polyclinics and extend financial assistance to milk vendors. He reaffirmed the state’s commitment to purchasing crops at Minimum Support Prices (MSP) and introduced various policy measures, including the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana and Meri Fasal-Mera Byora portal for crop registration and verification.
