Congress Strategizes for Assembly Polls in Four States

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi met with party members to discuss strategies for assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Maharashtra, and Jharkhand. The three-phase elections in J&K start on September 18, while Haryana will vote on October 1. The results will be declared on October 4.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and former chief Rahul Gandhi convened with general secretaries, in-charges, and screening committee members of four poll-bound states. The party affirmed its readiness for the upcoming assembly elections.

Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana are scheduled for elections in September and October, while Maharashtra and Jharkhand will hold polls later this year. The three-phase elections for the 90-member J&K assembly will take place on September 18, 25, and October 1. Haryana will vote on October 1, with results for both states announced on October 4.

General secretary K C Venugopal and other key members participated in the meeting held at AICC headquarters. Venugopal stated on X that they are fully prepared for the elections, highlighting the growing resentment against BJP and expressing optimism about a pro-people government.
