Leading the agitation, CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM D K Shivakumar initiated a 'Raj Bhavan Chalo' march.
Siddaramaiah claimed that the Governor's office was being misused to destabilize the Congress government and accused Gehlot of discriminating against him in granting prosecution sanctions.
On August 16, Governor Gehlot approved the prosecution of the CM under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and Section 218 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, as cited in petitions from three social activists.
