U.S. Accuses Russia of Meddling in 2024 Presidential Election
The U.S. plans to accuse Russia of influencing the 2024 presidential election using online platforms to spread disinformation. The Justice Department is set to announce this, focusing on Russian state media RT. Russia denies the accusations, labeling them as baseless, while U.S. intelligence indicates Moscow's continued preference for Trump.
The United States is set to accuse Russia of launching a disinformation campaign to influence the 2024 presidential election, according to a CNN report. This move will focus on the Russian state media network RT as a key player in disseminating false information to American voters.
The revelation comes just ahead of Attorney General Merrick Garland's anticipated speech at a Justice Department's Election Threats Task Force meeting. A spokesman for the Justice Department has declined to comment before the meeting.
Meanwhile, Russian officials have dismissed these claims as baseless. "The only winner of the U.S. election is the U.S. private military industrial complex," stated State Duma deputy Maria Butina, in response to the accusations.
