Donald Trump was confirmed safe after gunshots were reported in his vicinity on Sunday afternoon in Florida, according to his campaign and the Secret Service. The nature of the shots, whether targeted at Trump or not, remains unclear.
The US Secret Service is investigating the incident which occurred shortly before 2 pm. 'The former president is safe,' said the Secret Service. Two months ago, Trump survived an assassination attempt at a Pennsylvania rally.
Details about the latest incident remain scant, and the campaign has yet to provide further information. Law enforcement is determining if the shots were fired near or on the grounds of Trump's West Palm Beach golf course.
