Congress' Rajya Sabha MP Nasir Hussain has leveled serious allegations against the BJP, accusing them of sowing political instability in Jammu and Kashmir by backing independents and smaller parties in the ongoing assembly elections.
Hussain, a member of the Congress Working Committee, emphasized the necessity of securing a clear mandate to establish a stable coalition government in the region, a goal pursued in alliance with the National Conference. ''We are seeking a decisive and full-fledged mandate for the coalition to provide a stable government in Jammu and Kashmir. People should be cautious against the deceitful tactics of BJP for encouraging independents, smaller parties to create political uncertainty in J&K,'' Hussain told reporters on Sunday evening.
Highlighting the Supreme Court's role in ensuring these elections, Hussain criticized BJP's attempts to undermine democratic processes and questioned their governance record. He cited issues in healthcare, education, and infrastructure, along with rising drug addiction among youth. Hussain pledged Congress scrutiny into alleged corruption, advocating for local empowerment and socio-economic reforms.
