The Haryana assembly election results, declared on Tuesday, provided insights into the political strategies of the Congress party, as scrutinized by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Criticizing the Congress, Sarma stated that the lesson is clear: states cannot be governed by dividing the Hindu community.
Following the BJP's successful hat-trick of wins in Haryana, thwarting the Congress' efforts for a comeback, Sarma also lambasted the party's frequent questioning of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), highlighting that such criticisms surface only when the party faces defeat.
Sarma's comments came as the BJP secured its highest number of 48 seats, while Congress, defying exit poll predictions, gained 37 seats. Sarma suggested that Congress leaders should resign if they discredit EVMs, which they themselves benefited from in past victories.
