Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) State President Sanjay Singh Yadav on Sunday voiced his discontent with the seat-sharing arrangement for the looming Jharkhand assembly elections, highlighting inadequate representation for the party. Yadav urged alliance partners to present a united front, reiterating RJD's demand for 22 seats in negotiations.
RJD's Satyanand Bhokta, also a Jharkhand Minister, insisted the party seeks the seats it previously secured, comparing alliance disagreements to family squabbles. Bhokta expressed confidence that half the issues have been resolved and conveyed optimism that RJD would clinch victories in contested seats.
Mrityunjay Tiwari, another prominent RJD leader, reaffirmed the party's strong foothold in Jharkhand, emphasizing that the INDIA alliance would stand firm and united during the elections. The RJD seeks to ensure it receives due respect within the coalition framework.
The RJD is contesting the elections cooperatively with Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and the Congress. Meanwhile, the BJP unveiled its initial 66-candidate list for the elections, planning to contest alongside AJSU, JD-U, and LJP, fielding candidates in multiple seats across two phases on November 13 and 20.
