Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched a scathing critique of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on Wednesday for what he views as dynastic politics within their ranks. Pointing at the JMM's candidate list, Sarma highlighted the inclusion of 'husband, wife, and brother' as telltale signs.
Sarma, who holds a role as BJP's co-in-charge for the Jharkhand elections, particularly referenced the candidatures of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, his wife Kalpana Soren, and brother Basan Soren. The list, according to Sarma, reflects an entrenched dynastic approach.
Suggesting a lack of diversity among the JMM candidates, Sarma noted that the BJP could offer additional candidates if required, a nod to some recent defections to the JMM from the BJP. The elections in Jharkhand's 81-member assembly are set for November 13 and 20, with vote counting on November 23.
