In a strategic move for the upcoming by-elections, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has endorsed Gulab Singh Rajput as the candidate for the Vav constituency in Gujarat, according to an All India Congress Committee (AICC) press release.
The bypolls are scheduled for November 13, with results declared on November 23. Simultaneously, the Congress released a list of candidates for the Rajasthan by-elections. The candidates include Amit Ola for Jhunjhunu, Aryaan Zubair for Ramgarh, and Ratan Choudhary for Khinswar, among others, indicating the party's focused approach to reclaim political ground.
The by-elections encompass 48 assembly constituencies across 15 states, per the Election Commission of India's October 15 announcement. Voting will occur in two phases, with the first phase covering 47 constituencies and Wayanad's parliamentary seat on November 13, followed by the second phase on November 20, affecting Kedarnath and Nanded parliamentary seats.
Adding a significant spotlight, Priyanka Gandhi submitted her nomination for the Wayanad seat amid a massive rally, underscoring her gratitude for the support shown to her brother, Rahul Gandhi, during challenging times.
