The recent meeting between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Kazan, Russia, has been deemed 'very important' by China's Ambassador to India, Xu Feihong. The discussion, taking place on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit, marked the first formal dialogue between the two leaders in five years.
Ambassador Xu emphasized that significant common understandings were reached during the talks, setting guidelines for the steady development of India-China relations. The meeting aimed to steer bilateral ties back on track and was seen as a breakthrough in easing the diplomatic tensions between the neighboring countries.
In response to questions about the completed India-China border disengagement in Eastern Ladakh, Xu expressed hope that the consensus reached would guide the smooth progression of relations without being derailed by differences.
