German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock emphasized on Thursday the necessity of involving Ukraine and Europe in the ongoing peace talks about the Ukrainian conflict. The statement came after U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin held discussions over the matter.

Baerbock stated in an interview with Deutschlandfunk radio that participation from Ukraine is indispensable. According to her, ignoring Ukraine in these talks could jeopardize the quest for peace throughout Europe. 'Peace in Europe is at stake, that's why we Europeans need to be brought in,' she asserted.

The recent talks involved President Trump, who communicated separately with both Russian President Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Wednesday, aiming for progress on the issue.
