The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday called for intervention from the Lieutenant Governor regarding the renaming of the official 'CMO Delhi' social media handle on platform X to 'Arvind Kejriwal At Work'. The BJP alleges that this change occurred under the instructions of former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Virendra Sachdeva, Delhi BJP president, urged Lt Governor VK Saxena to request a report from the government's IT department addressing the handle's rebranding and its subsequent usage for disseminating posts in favor of the former chief minister. As of now, the Aam Aadmi Party has not responded to these claims.
Sachdeva criticized Kejriwal, accusing him of using public resources for personal gain and compromising the privacy of roughly one million followers by facilitating this alleged digital heist. He urged legal action against Kejriwal. Meanwhile, BJP MLA Vijender Gupta highlighted the alleged removal of government content from official platforms, accusing Kejriwal of obscuring his administration's failures.
