Senior BJP leader and former Union minister Uma Bharti has strongly condemned the United States government's actions, criticizing the 'cruel and extremely shameful manner' in which it has deported illegal Indian immigrants.

A US military aircraft brought back 104 illegal Indian immigrants to Amritsar on February 5, marking the first wave of deportations under the Donald Trump administration's stringent immigration policies. Reports indicate that the deportees were restrained with handcuffs and shackles during the flight, being freed only upon landing.

In a social media post, Bharti expressed outrage over the treatment of the deportees, likening it to historical discrimination against Native Americans and African Americans by the US government. With another plane expected to bring 119 more deportees to Amritsar, Uma Bharti deems the American administration's approach as excessively harsh.
