China has called on NATO to embrace a rational and pragmatic attitude towards the country, urging the alliance to develop an objective and correct understanding of China, according to a statement from the foreign ministry on Saturday.

Foreign Minister Wang Yi communicated these sentiments to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte during a meeting on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference held on Friday, the ministry noted.

In his discourse, Wang emphasized Beijing's ongoing commitment to collaborate with other global entities to foster a political resolution to the conflict in Ukraine, signifying China's desire to play a constructive role on the world stage.
