On Monday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov cast doubt on Europe's involvement in potential peace negotiations for Ukraine, questioning why they should be invited when many European politicians appear to favor ongoing conflict.
At a Saudi Arabia press conference with Serbia's foreign minister, Lavrov remarked that Europe had numerous past opportunities to participate in a resolution process but failed to act. He expressed skepticism about how European countries could contribute effectively to discussions now.
While European politicians hold varying views on the Ukrainian crisis, the majority advocate for what they describe as a 'just and lasting peace'.
