Delhi's political landscape witnessed a shift as Minister Ashish Sood joined the Cabinet, pledging to rectify past governance issues. In a statement to ANI, Sood articulated the BJP's agenda to implement Prime Minister Narendra Modi's developmental blueprint, in alignment with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta's stewardship.
Sood reinforced the BJP's accountability to the electorate's mandate for change, stating, "The people have voted to end bad governance in Delhi." This pledge follows Rekha Gupta's oath-taking ceremony as Delhi Chief Minister at Ramlila Maidan, marking the beginning of a new administrative era.
The newly formed cabinet convened on its first day, promptly endorsing the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, previously obstructed by AAP, with immediate benefits extended to residents. Gupta, managing multiple key portfolios, voiced the BJP's commitment to prioritize Delhi's interests, underscoring transparency with an impending CAG report revealing administrative insights.
Portfolios have been distributed among key BJP members: Pravesh Verma oversees Public Works, Legislative Affairs, and more; Ashish Sood heads Home and Education sectors; Manjinder Singh Sira manages Food and Environment; Ravinder Singh (Indraj) focuses on Welfare sectors; Kapil Mishra is in charge of Justice and Tourism, while Pankaj Kumar Singh leads Health and Technology.
Demonstrating a commitment to environmental objectives, CM Gupta and her cabinet participated in the Yamuna's evening Aarti, affirming the river's cleanup as a government priority.
