Perkins Coie Takes on Trump: Legal Battle Over Alleged Retaliation
Perkins Coie, a major U.S. law firm, has filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration, claiming it was unlawfully retaliated against in an executive order. The order targeted the firm due to its past work with Democrat Hillary Clinton and its diversity and inclusion policies.

Perkins Coie, a prominent U.S. law firm, has initiated legal proceedings against the Trump administration in federal court. The lawsuit claims that an executive order issued by President Trump unlawfully targeted the firm for its previous work with Democrat Hillary Clinton and its internal diversity efforts.
The order directed federal agencies to scrutinize and potentially suspend contracts with the firm, as well as limit Perkins Coie lawyers' access to government resources. This move has heightened tensions between the Trump administration and law firms perceived as adversarial.
The executive order follows a similar action against law firm Covington & Burling and adds to the legal challenges faced by Perkins Coie, stemming from its association with Fusion GPS and past involvement in the 2016 presidential election controversy.
