Thackeray Challenges BJP's 'Saugat-e-Modi' Initiative

Amid rising political tensions, Uddhav Thackeray, chief of Shiv Sena (UBT), has launched a scathing critique of the BJP's 'Saugat-e-Modi' initiative. Labeling it as a strategic move for the forthcoming Bihar elections, Thackeray accused the ruling party of hypocrisy and questioned their sincerity towards minority communities.

Speaking at a Mumbai press conference, Thackeray highlighted the BJP's double standards, recalling how the party once criticized him for abandoning Hindutva principles when Muslim support surged for Shiv Sena (UBT) during the last Lok Sabha polls. He questioned whether the BJP’s latest minority outreach would have any lasting impact beyond Bihar's electoral landscape.

The BJP, represented by Maharashtra's party president Chandrashekhar Bawankule, defended the initiative as an inclusive gesture, emphasizing its focus on distributing food and clothing within minority communities. Bawankule reiterated Narendra Modi's commitment to inclusivity, while Thackeray questioned the BJP's motives, accusing them of fueling communal discord.
