Tensions flared as members of the Pakistan Army and Jamaat-ud-Dawah attended the funerals of three individuals killed in recent Indian military strikes. The event took place in Muridke, about 40 kilometers from Lahore, where the terror group's headquarters were allegedly targeted.

According to Tabish Qayyum, spokesperson for the Pakistan Markazi Muslim League and a funeral attendee, the occasion was attended by members of the civil bureaucracy. The deceased, Qari Abdul Malik, Khalid, and Mudassir, were reportedly mosque caretakers and members of JuD.

Hafiz Abdul Rauf led the funeral prayer, while Qayyum spoke of a forthcoming retaliatory response from Pakistan against the Indian military action. The three were killed while sleeping adjacent to the mosque, which was destroyed in the attack. Following the service, their bodies were transported to their native villages for burial.
