In response to public outcry regarding the alleged custodial death of Ajith Kumar in Tamil Nadu's Sivaganga district, Chief Minister MK Stalin announced decisive government action. On Tuesday, Stalin confirmed that not only have lower-ranking officers been dealt with, but also higher-ranking officials are facing repercussions.

The state has reallocated Sivaganga's Superintendent of Police Ashish Rawat to a 'compulsory wait' position at the Director General of Police's Chennai office. This move follows the death of Kumar, a temple security guard allegedly subjected to police brutality.

Simultaneously, the CB-CID has undertaken an investigation into the incident.
