Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut stirred controversy on Monday by alleging that four ministers in Maharashtra had been 'honey trapped', leading to a swift dismissal of his claims by BJP leaders.
Raut's claims, made in a social media post, suggested that the controversial tactic influenced some MPs to defect to the faction now led by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. State officials and BJP ministers, however, have strongly refuted these allegations.
The allegation has intensified political tensions, prompting demands for formal investigations while both sides engage in a war of words over credibility and possible political maneuvers.
