The West Bengal BJP chief, Samik Bhattacharya, has leveled serious allegations against the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC), accusing it of orchestrating schemes to add illegal Bangladeshi immigrants to the state's electoral rolls.

During a press conference, Bhattacharya alleged that the TMC is misusing state resources to manipulate electoral outcomes by shielding Bangladeshi and Rohingya immigrants, ensuring their bogus inclusion in the voter list, particularly in towns close to the Bangladesh border.

Highlighting the nationwide impact, Bhattacharya claimed that the TMC's actions have led to discrimination against Bengal-origin workers across India, provoking calls for a Special Intensive Revision of the state's voter list to ensure electoral integrity. The TMC, however, dismissed these claims as communal rhetoric.
