Political Tensions Surface Over Metro Station Naming Controversies

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Monday accused the BJP of harboring deep-seated resentment towards Jawaharlal Nehru, suggesting this animosity has influenced decisions such as omitting Nehru's name from the metro station near Mumbai's Nehru Science Centre.

Raut emphasized that, while the metro station on Aqua line is simply called 'Science Museum station,' the nearby Sanjay Gandhi National Park has been similarly slighted, with its namesake's moniker absent from the Rashtriya Udayan station's title.

Expressing concerns about a potential political fallout, Raut speculated on possible repercussions for recent comments made by BJP leader Nitin Gadkari, who acknowledged Nehru's vision during a speech in Nagpur.
