Telangana BJP spokesperson NV Subhash has launched an attack on Congress, accusing them of failing to honor commitments made in the Kamareddy Declaration concerning the 42% OBC reservation in local bodies. Subhash questioned Congress's contributions to the state, highlighting that none of the 25 promises in the declaration have been met.

Subhash urged Congress to at least fulfill 20 of those promises as part of efforts to uplift BC communities. The 2023 Kamareddy BC Declaration included increasing BC reservations from 23% to 42%, creating political positions, and sub-categorizing BC reservations in local bodies, along with reservations in government contracts.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has also criticized the BJP-led central government for allegedly hindering the state's push to enhance OBC reservations. Reddy claimed that the central government is stalling by labeling it a Muslim reservation bill. Moreover, he expressed determination to uphold the promise made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
