The conversation precedes Trump's discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding Moscow's ongoing conflict with Ukraine.

During the Fox News interview, Trump detailed Xi's commitment, quoting the Chinese leader as saying, 'I will never do it as long as you're president.' In response, Trump expressed appreciation for the assurance, although Xi noted, 'I am very patient, and China is very patient.'
